2021 Ford Bronco Unveiled: More Than Nostalgia

By Jonny Lieberman, Frank Markus – Words; Steven Pham,William Walker– Photos – MotorTrend

Thunderclouds threaten as our group stands in the middle of Johnson Valley OHV Area, looking at two pre-production versions of the all-new 2021 Ford Bronco. One is a Cactus Gray four-door Badlands hardtop, but we can’t take our eyes off the Cyber Orange two-door Black Diamond Bronco with the removable roof fully removed. It looks utterly fabulous.

A concept car come to life, driven straight off the auto show stand to an off-road paradise known for King of the Hammers. The consensus: Ford is gonna sell a million of these things. The 2021 Bronco—especially the papaya-colored small fry—just looks right on.

2021 Acura TLX First Look: Back to Its Roots

By Miguel CortinaMotorTrend

A few minutes after the checkered flag waved at 2017’s rainy 24 Hours of Daytona, Acura’s bossman, Jon Ikeda, was cheering inside the luxury brand’s suite at the raceway. The #86 NSX GT3 car crossed the line in a respectable fifth place—but Ikeda was not only acclaiming a successful debut for the new Acura race car, he was celebrating what the brand was building for the future.

The 2021 Acura TLX is a big part of that destiny. For the past few years, the TLX has been among the second-tier sales leaders in the hyper-competitive sport sedan segment—trailing the stalwart BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class, but putting the hurt to the Audi A4, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Lexus IS, and Genesis G70. Still, it’s never been seen as particularly sexy.

2021 Nissan Frontier: Everything We Know

By: Jeff PerezMotor1

The Nissan Frontier is one of the oldest vehicles on sale today – the current model debuted all the way back in 2004. But Nissan is going back to the drawing board, the company promising a more modern, better-looking truck for 2021. And it needs to be good in order to compete in a stacked class that includes relative newcomers like the Jeep Gladiator and Ford Ranger, as well as more established alternatives like the Toyota TacomaChevrolet ColoradoGMC Canyon, and Honda Ridgeline.

There have been more than a dozen reports hinting at details like power, styling, and price. But until the new Frontier debuts (hopefully sometime later this year), we take each of these rumors with a grain of salt. That said, here’s what we think we know about the 2021 Nissan Frontier thus far.

2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV First Look: The New Long One

By Alexander StoklosaMotorTrend

Cadillac’s latest Escalade, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV, is loaded with new, new, new, which includes everything from its new independent rear suspension to its newly price-appropriate luxe interior to its available diesel engine. Pretty much the only constants in the Escalade’s world are that it’s still a chunky, flashy full-size luxury SUV and it’s once again available in short- and long-wheelbase Escalade and Escalade ESV forms. When Cadillac pulled the wraps off the all-new SUV earlier this year, the brand pulled the proverbial sheet off of only the shorter ‘Slade. Now, Cadillac is offering us our first look (in the metal) at the larger 2021 Escalade ESV.

That is about all Cadillac is offering at this point: A peek. The automaker released limited photography and detail about the newest ESV, promising simply that it would offer “the same bold-design and cutting-edge technologies as the short-wheelbase Escalade.” The automaker claims the ESV will share broad strokes with the regular Escalade, including the smaller model’s switch from an old-school solid rear axle to a more refined, modern independent rear suspension setup; incredible curved OLED interior display; and available Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance tech.

2021 Toyota Yaris Cross Debuts With Hybrid Power And All-Wheel Drive

By: Adrian PadeanuMotor1

The Yaris gets a crossover companion offering more room and an increased ground clearance.

Toyota originally intended to unveil its new small crossover in March at the Geneva Motor Show but the event’s cancelation caused by the coronavirus pandemic forced the automaker to reschedule the premiere. The company said it would delay the vehicle’s debut for weeks or even months, but the wait is now over as Toyota is ready to introduce its Yaris-derived crossover.

Positioned below the C-HR, the new Yaris Cross carries over the supermini’s wheelbase measuring 2560 millimeters (100.8 inches) while featuring longer overhangs increasing the overall length by 240 mm (9.4 inches) to 4180 mm (164.5 inches). It’s also 20 mm (0.8 inches) wider and 90 mm (3.5 inches) taller than the Yaris, while remaining significantly smaller than the aforementioned C-HR.

2021 Audi A3 Sedan First Look: More Aggressive, More Techy

By Scott Evans – MotorTrend

Sedans are sailing in serious headwinds these days, but Audi isn’t ready to give up. The second-generation 2021 Audi A3 is here with a more aggressive look and a load of tech designed to draw your eye away from all the SUVs in the room.

You’ll immediately recognize Audi’s smallest, least-expensive sedan; its look is more evolutionary than revolutionary, but it’s undeniably more assertive with far more lines than curves in its sheetmetal. They’re most obvious up front, but don’t miss the deeply sculpted sides and the Radwood-worthy Audi logo on the rear doors, an ’80s brand throwback. Audi designers also looked to draw out the roofline slightly and tighten up the rear end to give the A3 sedan a little more of that four-door coupe look that’s in vogue.

2021 Toyota Supra Gets Worse EPA Numbers Than 2020 Model

By: Angel SergeevMotor1

Back in February this year, Toyota unveiled the 2021 Toyota Supra with a healthy power boost, lots of upgrades, and an A91 Special Edition model. The sports coupe probably won’t reach showrooms before this summer but MotorTrend has already obtained the Supra’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) efficiency numbers for the 2021 model year. They are slightly worse than before but we can live with that.

According to the publication, the 2021 Toyota Supra will return 22 miles per gallon city, 30 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. For a comparison, the 2020 model year variant was estimated at 24 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined measured by the EPA’s fuel efficiency test cycle.
