2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Review: Easy To Like, Hard To Love

By: Brett T. EvansMotor1

Four decades ago, if you had some expendable income and wanted to show off, you bought a personal luxury coupe. That loaded Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Ford Thunderbird, or Chrysler Cordoba showed the world that you valued style over practicality, and you were monied enough to make such a decision. Times have changed, but the word to describe such a vehicle hasn’t. Enter the 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe.

We could argue the semantics of calling any four-door offering – let alone a crossover – a coupe, but instead, let’s just evaluate the fastback Cayenne for what it is. To do that, Porsche offered us a stylishly appointed base model, which features a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 making 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet. With a starting price of $75,300, the Cayenne Coupe demands an additional $9,000 relative to the regular SUV, though it does include standard niceties like a panoramic glass roof, eight-way power sport seats, and the Sport Chrono Package.

Best Compact Hybrid SUVs to Buy in 2020

By Alisa Priddle – MotorTrend

Consumers with a keen interest in fuel economy have always looked to small and compact vehicles to get their fix, whether that be a car or an SUV. Today, automakers go a step further, fitting hybrid systems to compact SUVs so that a small gasoline engine is augmented by an electric motor (or motors) for even fewer trips to the pump.

As the industry moves inexorably to full electrification, the best small crossover SUVs offer the power and mpg boost of electric motors, including the segment’s top SUV models like the Toyota RAV4the Honda CR-V, and the Ford Escape. Here at MotorTrend, we’ve driven them all, so we can separate the great from the good SUVs, so read on to see which models are the top compact hybrid SUVs to buy in 2020.

Best Sedans to Buy in 2020

By Alexander Stoklosa – MotorTrend

Traditional four-door sedans aren’t dead yet. Despite sales encroachment from ever-more-popular trucks and SUVs, sedans remain big sellers and typically drive better than any similarly sized crossover or SUV while delivering much better efficiency.

At the affordable end of the market, subcompact and compact sedans such as the Kia Rio, Hyundai Accent, Honda Civic, and Mazda 3 represent popular and more affordable family-car alternatives to SUVs (not to mention large cars!).

Move up in size and price, and passenger cars such as the Tesla Model 3 EV, Audi A6, and Audi A8 deliver cachet and performance to match their roomier interiors and trunks. There’s a four-door for every buyer, and we’ve reviewed them all, so read on for MotorTrend‘s picks for the best sedans to buy in 2020.

2020 Jaguar XE Review

By: Brandon TurkusMotor1

Jaguar has a proud history of full- and mid-size sedans dating back decades. From the S-Type and XJ to, um, the S-Type and XJ, the Coventry-based automaker knows all about bigger four-doors. Its fortunes with smaller sedans have been less successful.

The X-Type looked good but critics unfairly tarred it as a rebadged Ford Mondeo. It failed to steal sales from German rivals. Then came the Jaguar XE, which also looked good and didn’t have the Ford parts issue. It failed to steal sales from German rivals. And now we have the updated 2020 Jaguar XE, which looks very good, but based on our experience will fail to steal sales from German rivals. What’s the definition of insanity again?

2020 Mercedes-AMG S65 Review: A Fitting Goodbye

By Clint SimoneMotor1

The ultimate expression of an S-Class.

Let’s start by proclaiming what’s at the very top of mind: The 2020 Mercedes-AMG S65 Final Edition is the best Mercedes I’ve ever driven. Bold, I know, to declare a car that starts at over a quarter-million dollars to be “good,” and yet here I am putting my stellar reputation on the line.

There are endless reasons why the S65 Final Edition is such a treasure, but one stands above them all. Mercedes threw absolutely everything it has at this car. From the hand-built V12 engine to the custom leather upholstery, to the huge suite of tech and convenience features, the company employed its entire arsenal and the end result is a car that we’ll look back on and admire years down the line.

2020 Lexus LX 570 Three-Row Review: By The Book Luxury SUV

By  DENIS FLIERLAutomoblog

The 2020 Lexus LX 570 is pretty much by the book when it comes to large luxury SUVs. It has a powerful engine, a quiet interior, and terrible gas mileage. We like the three-row variant as it can accommodate a larger family, but a two-row LX 570 is also an option.
