2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS First Drive

You’ve seen the new Mercedes-Benz EQS’ available dashboard-spanning Hyperscreen and probably commented on how the exterior looks like a jelly bean. Most likely, you wondered whether this electric luxury sedan is a Tesla wannabe with a three-pointed star on the nose. Nope. It’s not.

During two days of relatively low-speed cruising through Switzerland, surrounded by the small country’s expansive network of speed cameras and police itching to levy steep fines for even minor infractions, we never saw much more than 75 mph. Certainly, we never engaged in anything that could be described as being “ludicrous,” and we never saw Plaid. In fact, we didn’t think much about Tesla or face-melting acceleration at all.

2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe First Look

The most classically “BMW” BMW remains one of the brand’s least weird efforts.

If you were feeling anxious before seeing the 2022 BMW 2 Series, you’re not alone. After the newest 4 Series, M3 and M4, and first-ever iX EV all broke cover with less-than-beautiful styling, any new BMW brings with it as much trepidation as it does excitement these days. However, BMW’s new compact 2 Series coupe is finally here, and it isn’t wearing polarizing styling that’s as meme-able as we feared.

2022 Genesis G80 Sport First Look

The Genesis G80 Sport brings available four-wheel-steering to the luxury brand’s midsize model.

Genesis plans to dust off the old Sport moniker and apply it to the latest iteration of its G80 luxury sedan. Like the prior G80 Sport, the likely 2022 model year addition to the G80 model line wears subtle but distinct styling cues to separate it from less driver-oriented G80 models. This includes a new front-end piece with a more prominent lower fascia, dark chrome fitted to the midsize sedan’s front and rear trim pieces, black headlight surrounds, a model-specific 20-inch wheel design, and a reworked rear bumper. Additionally, Genesis offers the G80 Sport with either red or black brake calipers.

2022 Infiniti QX55 Interior Review

The 2022 Infiniti QX55 is one of the Japanese luxury automaker’s best-looking SUVs in decades. Its crisp, wave-formed sheetmetal recalls the hugely successful Infiniti FX SUV from the early 2000s, which was one of the first performance crossover SUVs on the market. While it’s clear Infiniti designers spent much time loving the surfaces of the QX55 (and its more conservatively styled sibling, the QX50), you might be wondering if they spent as much time on the interior design. Read on to find out.

2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV First Look

By Alexander StoklosaMotorTrend

The Chevrolet Bolt EV, if you noticed it at all before, was a homely little electric hatchback. Neither here nor there, really—just a generically styled, Chevy-badged tall hatch. In other words, inoffensive automotive wallpaper. Looks were never the point because the Bolt delivered where it counts for EV customers: It was the first truly affordable “long-range” electric car, and it beat Tesla’s long-promised affordable Model 3 sedan to market. We named the impressive 238-mile Bolt EV our 2017 Car of the Year, and the game was supposed to be done changed by this pioneering Chevy.

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson’s Most Outrageous Design Details

By Miguel Cortina  – MotorTrend

The Hyundai Tucson gets a full makeover for 2022, entering its fourth generation with a polarizing exterior style. But the pictures don’t do justice to Hyundai’s compact crossover—its exterior design is much more attractive in person. Still, we know some may not be convinced about its exterior looks. In a crowded segment, though, Hyundai felt it needed the Tucscon to stand out.

There’s no doubt the design is futuristic and aggressive, but there are many cool details that designers focused on. The Tucson is the latest vehicle to use Hyundai’s new design language called Sensuous Sportiness, which we’ve seen on the Elantra and Sonata sedans. Here are five cool design details in the 2022 Hyundai Tucson.

2022 Volkswagen Taos First Look: A Big New Small SUV

By Nick YekikianMotorTrend

The Volkswagen Group is the largest automaker in the world, and yet it only commands a measly three percent of the U.S. car market. Why so small a piece of such a decent-sized pie? Well, for a long time VW simply didn’t make the sort of vehicles American consumers wanted to buy. The Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport (not to mention the enlarged Tiguan) were the first steps in filling out a lineup previously rife with pricey hatchbacks and Euro-wonderful sedans (such as the old Passat) with the SUVs that Americans are so hungry for. The new 2022 Volkswagen Taos continues the brand’s SUV offensive and is its first sub-compact SUV.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer Price

By: Anthony AlanizMotor1

Today, Jeep revealed a concept for a much-needed addition to its lineup – the Grand Wagoneer. It’ll be the pinnacle of the Wagoneer family, which will boast three rows of seats, tons of luxury and technology, and, according to a new report from Car and Driver, a hefty price tag.

The publication interviewed Jeep president Christian Meunier who said the standard Wagoneer would start at around $60,000 while the range-topping Grand-Wagoneer will reach six figures. That’s quite a spread, but it sounds as if Jeep is positioning the Wagoneer family to compete against several different competitors. According to Car and Driver, the Wagoneer is expected to compete against both Ford and Chevy, and Lincoln and Cadillac, like the Suburban and Navigator.
