Nissan Juke-R With GT-R Engine – Would you pay supercar money for a fast Juke?

The Nissan Juke has been dead since 2018 Well, at least in the US where it’s practically replaced by the more standard-looking Kicks.

But if you’re looking to buy one but don’t want the anemic engine and the arguably problematic Nissan CVT, there’s the Juke-R that can be found elsewhere in the world. In fact, one out of the five Nissan Juke-Rs ever made is currently on sale in Germany via VDM Cars, but it’s asking for a hefty sum – like, 237,941 euros hefty or around $280,000 with the current exchange rates, basically supercar money for a Nissan Juke.

Although the Dodge Charger and Nissan Maxima adopt a similar form factor, these full-size sedans go about their business in very different ways. The Maxima takes a more luxurious approach to its features and appointments while still trying to be fun to drive. 2021 Nissan Kicks Gets A Fresh Face And Better Standard Tech

By: Jeff PerezMotor1

We have a lot of love for the little Nissan Kicks. The pint-sized crossover has a big driving personality, approachable styling, and great standard safety features. Now Nissan has further improved the Kicks for 2021 with a facelift (akin to its overseas sibling) and more standard features.

The 2021 Nissan Kicks wears what the brand calls a “Double V-motion” grille, which expands last year’s V-Motion grille pretty significantly. Joining the new front-end treatment are available LED headlights and an edgier front bumper, all designed to give the Kicks a tougher look head-on. The SR model also sports standard LED fog lights.

2020 Nissan Leaf Plus Driving Notes

By: Jeff Perez Published by: Brandon TurkusMotor1

The Nissan Leaf still has what it takes to compete in this now-tougher segment.

Even with a mere 73 miles of range, the original Nissan Leaf was a pioneer. It was one of the first mass-market electric vehicles you could buy here in the US and helped ease buyers into electrification. But with more companies debuting better alternatives to the Leaf – like ChevroletFordTeslaPolestar, and others – Nissan’s all-electric hatchback struggles to capture the same attention and share it once did.

Nevertheless, the Leaf is a better vehicle following its 2017 facelift, which included improvements to both the range and looks. The base version now drives up to 149 miles with its standard 40-kilowatt-hour battery pack, while a 62-kWh battery gives the Leaf Plus a range of up to 226 miles if you order the light, frill-free S trim. Three of us recently spent time in a Leaf Plus (though the SV model with a 215-mile range), and while it may no longer be our first choice, it’s still a solid option in a booming segment.

By Aaron Gold – MotorTrend

The Nissan Ariya – This Murano-like electric SUV will take on the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach E.

Nope, this isn’t a concept car—it’s the production version of the Nissan Ariya electric SUV shown at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, and it’s coming to the U.S. and Canada in late 2021. With up to 300 miles of range, a flat-floor cabin, a hands-off driving mode, and a $40,000-ish price tag, the Ariya promises to be the electric crossover for those who don’t want to fade into the battery-powered background of lookalike Teslas.

2021 Nissan Frontier: Everything We Know

By: Jeff PerezMotor1

The Nissan Frontier is one of the oldest vehicles on sale today – the current model debuted all the way back in 2004. But Nissan is going back to the drawing board, the company promising a more modern, better-looking truck for 2021. And it needs to be good in order to compete in a stacked class that includes relative newcomers like the Jeep Gladiator and Ford Ranger, as well as more established alternatives like the Toyota TacomaChevrolet ColoradoGMC Canyon, and Honda Ridgeline.

There have been more than a dozen reports hinting at details like power, styling, and price. But until the new Frontier debuts (hopefully sometime later this year), we take each of these rumors with a grain of salt. That said, here’s what we think we know about the 2021 Nissan Frontier thus far.

How Good Is the 2020 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X Off-Road?

By Scott Evans – Words, Jade Nelson – Photos – MotorTrend

Every pickup on the market offers four-wheel drive, or in the case of the Honda Ridgeline and some Chevrolet Silverados, all-wheel drive— learn the difference here. Nearly all of them also offer a specific off-roading package of parts, and a few offer extreme off-road variants. The 2020 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X model leans toward the more capable side of the standard off-road package, so we hit the trail to see if the Pro-4X parts and the new engine and transmission added up to dirt dominance.

Let’s take stock of the equipment we’re working with and why I think it’s a little more substantial than the usual off-road package. The party piece is the manually lockable rear differential, which is frustratingly only functional with the four-wheel drive in Low Range. I get the logic: if you’re in a situation where you need a locker, you probably also need low gears. That’s not always true, and the whole point of having a manual locker is deciding for yourself when to use it. This is likely a case of corporate lawyers trying to keep people from using it in four-wheel drive high or in two-wheel drive, lest we misbehave.

The 2020 Nissan Frontier Has Everything You Need, Nothing You Don’t

By Scott Evans – Words; Jade Nelson – Photos – MotorTrends

“Oh gosh,” photographer Jade Nelson texted me, “that looks five years old.”

“More like 16,” I replied.

Technically, we were both wrong. The brand-new truck Jade couldn’t find in an almost empty parking lot was, in fact, introduced 16 years ago, but it got a facelift in 2008, making it 12 years old. Except not really, because the 2020 Nissan Frontier gets an all-new engine and transmission in preparation for the truck’s long-awaited total replacement next year.

Think of it as a trial run. After more than a decade on the market without a significant change, and with the small truck market on fire with several new competitors in the field, Nissan needs to get the all-new truck right on Day 1. The engine and transmission are major components of any vehicle, so because they’re ready now, Nissan is trying them out on the current Frontier before installing them on the new truck. Any bugs that need working out will be sorted during the soft open here before the grand opening next year.

2020 Nissan Titan First Test

By Christian Seabaugh – Words, William Walker – Photos – MotorTrend

Nissan hopes simplicity is the key to improve the Titan truck. In the automotive world, there’s perhaps no buyer more fiercely loyal than pickup truck buyers. Ford F-150 buyers buy F-150s, Ram 1500 buyers buy Rams, and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 buyers buy, you guessed it, Silverados. It’s been hard for the Nissan Titan (not to mention the rival Toyota Tundra) to snake in on the Americans’ turf. With its latest updates to its half-ton Titan truck, Nissan hopes it finally has the pickup formula right. We snagged the keys to a 2020 Nissan Titan Pro4X to see if the revised Titan has what it takes to take on the F-150s, Silverados, and Rams of the world.

2020 Nissan GT-R Nismo Review

By: Jeff PerezMotor1

The Nissan GT-R is so old (how old is it?) that when it debuted in 2008, McLaren wasn’t anywhere near the tour de force the brand is currently. These days, the British manufacturer offers two excellent alternatives to Nissan’s supercar – the 570S and the 720S – as well as a handful of hypercar and GT options. Meanwhile, the GT-R has barely changed.

There’s still something extremely likable about the Nissan GT-R, though, specifically the hardcore, track-focused Nismo model we recently got our hands on. This version, though it debuted more than six years ago as part of a mid-cycle refresh, touts more power, better aerodynamics, and a modern-ish cabin. And for the record, it’s still fast as hell despite its age.
